Upcoming Titles

Just when things start to look their worst, Tiger steps forward and offers some juicy
informational tidbits that make everything look bright again! The below post from
Gary Webel brought to light several
such bits o' goodness:
Greetings, straight from the Tiger's mouth:
I'm group coordinator for game.com at Tiger, and I'll try to set the record straight concerning
most of the questions I've seen here.
1. game.com.pocket pro will DEFINITELY be out this month. It's smaller, holds one cart, runs
on 2 AA's instead of 4, and, best of all, has a backlight.
2. Resident Evil 2 will also ship in October. The RE2 Web Link contest will run from Dec. 1
to Jan. 15. The best posted score (the shortest time to complete the game) will net the winner a
$10,000 savings bond. Look for ads in upcoming issues of EGM, Game Pro and Expert
Gamer. (Similar Web Link contests are coming soon for 99x Crash Bandicoot and WCW Giga
Fighters.)
3. To facilitate the contest, Tiger is giving away free Web Links. Check out our web site,
www.game.com, for details.
4. I understand the frustration with the delay in game releases. More are in
development all the time, and dozens more are in the works for '99, including Holyfield
Boxing, NASCAR, Madden Football, NBA Live, WCW, MetalGear Solid, and Command & Conquer
Red Alert.
5. Yes, the Furby toy (doll?) is a huge hit. No plans for a Furby cart, though.
6. Thanks for your continued support and interest in game.com. Feel free to e-mail me with
questions/comments at gary@tigertoys.com

Besides the RE2 contest that we're now familiar with, the posting revealed some more upcoming
titles for us to look forward to! As just about every single agvtg-c regular has begged and pleaded for, one
of the new titles listed is C&C: Red Alert. That should make plenty of folks happy :) NASCAR makes the
list, which will hopefully provide a suitable replacement for the dismal Indy 500. PSX fans have another
treat in store after RE2 with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid.
I'll not comment on "WCW" - I've little to no knowledge about such matters :)

Holyfield Info
| |
Apparently several folks on agvtg-c had some questions about Holyfield Boxing, and one of
the helpful folks at Tiger produced the answers. Thanks to Thomas Fessler
for the info!
I hope this answers some of the questions that are going around about Holyfield
Boxing's "in development" features.
- A 3/4 overhead perspective that delivers full movement in the boxing ring with 8 directions
of fighting action.
- "Real Deal" boxing A/I and tactics, Not just side scroller punch left/right duck OR a copy of
other 1st person punch / punch / block / games. You will get full range of movement in the
boxing ring. Push your opponent into the corner / back out and move in to deliver that KO punch.
- 10 Different punches, Blocking, weaving, and AWESOME KO animations to name a few
- Animations created using state of the art 3-D animation software delivering realistic motion
and fighting action.
- TV-style on-screen stats and displays
- This game is being built from the ground up with one consideration - great game play.
Thanks!
Thomas Fessler
Don't know about the rest of you readers, but this information made me do an about-face. I've
never been that much of a sportsgame fan, not to mention the fact that I haven't seen a well-done
boxing game since playing [the name eludes me] on the c64 some 15 years ago. The game
described above sounds less like a boxing game and more like a boxing simulation, which
sounds amazing to me. I keep having imaginative images of Lara Croft with boxing gloves :) Anyway,
this title is IMO looking to be the most promising title for the Com to date.... until Red Alert info starts
to filter out!
