The Duo-Dimension, 10' radius
spell causes a group of creatures to have only two dimensions,
height and width but no depth. These creatures are thus invisible
when turned sideways. This invisibility can only be detected
by means of a True Seeing spell or similar methods. In addition,
the duo-dimensional creatures can pass thru the thinnest of spaces
as long as these have the proper height - going thru the space
between a door and its frame is a simple matter. The subjects
can perform all actions normally. They can turn and become invisible,
move in this state, and appear again next round to attack, disappearing
on the following round.
Note that when turned, the subjects
cannot be affected by any form of attack, but when visible, they
are subject to double the amount of damage normal for the attack
form (a dagger thrust does 2d4 hp damage, for example). Furthermore,
the subjects have a portion of their existence in the Astral Plane
while the spell is in effect, and are subject to possible notice
by Astral creatures. If noticed, it is 25% probable that the
subjects of this spell are pulled entirely into the Astral by
any attack from an Astral creature. Such an attack inflicts normal
damage.
The spell confers duo-dimensionality
upon the touched subject, as well as all those creatures within
a 10' radius of the subject. Any affected creatures moving out
of the radius return to normal, altho no creatures entering the
area after the spell is cast are affected. The spell recipient
remains in duo-dimensional form for the entire duration of the
spell.
The material components of this spell
are a small klein bottle and a strip of parchment. As the spell
is uttered, the parchment is given a half-twist and joined at
the ends. The bottle is then passed thru the parchment loop,
both disappearing right as it passes thru. |
