This
spell, a variant of the priestly Free Action, prevents
the subject from being hindered or
benefited by magical intrusions. As with Free Action,
the subject can move and attack as normal, even under the influence
of magic that impedes movement (such as Web or Slow
spells). It even negates or prevents the effects of paralysis
or Hold spells. Magical items that hinder, such
as the Iron Bands of Bilarro or a Ring of
Clumsiness, are also negated. Any magical effect, item,
or the like that serves to hinder the subject is treated as if
the subject possessed 100% magic resistance versus the given effect.
An unusual side-effect of this spell
is its negation of beneficial, as well as detrimental, magical
effects. Any magic that serves to improve or hasten movement
is likewise cancelled. Spells such as Haste, Fly,
Dimension Door, and Teleport will
not function for the subject. Likewise, magical items of movement
and travel (Boots of Speed, Flying Carpets)
cease to function for the user.
This spell has no effects upon purely
natural hindrances or aids, such as water, paralytic poisons,
or horses and carriages; only magical effects are negated.
