Psychometabolic Devotion
Psionicists with this power have honed their reflexes to the point where they can catch or deflect small missiles. Such missiles include arrows, throwing knives, darts, crossbow bolts, and other similar weapons. The psionicist can either catch these missiles, or block/deflect the missiles with carried or worn items of suitable durability. The psionicist can attempt to catch or block as many missiles per round as desired, but each additional missile requires another Power Check with a -1 penalty, cumulative (the psionicist need not pay the initial cost more than once per round, however). For example, a psionicist attempting to block 3 arrows would make three Power Checks, at Dex-2, -3, and -4. The power does not grant the necessary reflexes to block near-instantaneous or instantaneous effects, such as firearms or Magic Missiles. The psionicist may attempt to block larger missiles such as ballista bolts or thrown boulders, but most likely will be injured anyway.
