This power, an alternate form of Precognition, enables
the user to view multiple possible outcomes of a given event.
By looking into the world of quantum probabilities and sorting
through the infinite potential outcomes, the user is able to glimpse
snatches of several possible futures. A specific, recent event
must be concentrated upon as the focal point. The caster then
views brief scenes are potential futures that are relevant to
the focal event. The user's mind will generally sort out the five
most likely scenarios,
and upwards of a dozen likely futures. For example, if focusing
upon the assassination of a king, the user might witness scenes
of a peaceful ascension of the prince to the throne, a civil war
breaking out over the various baron's struggle for power, further
assassinations, the kingdom being annexed by a neighboring king,
or the move to a non-feudal cultural organization. The user will
know which of the many scenes witnessed is the most likely candidate,
but generally will not know just how likely the odds are.
Unlike Precognition, this power can offer glimpses of the
future many years or even centuries into the future, as long as
the scenes are related to the focal event. However, Precognition
generally offers more information, as the brief glimpses offered
by this power are often open to interpretation. Continuing the
previous example, is a scene of the assassinated king back on
his throne indicative that the assassination attempt actually
failed, that the king was Resurrected, or that a doppleganger
has taken his place?
The DM makes the power roll secretly. If a 20 is rolled, the
user will witness scenes are low probability, but never so unlikely
as to be dismissed by the user.
