I'm officially out of the DDM hobby now, there will be no further updates of this site. Never have time to play the game, and the entry cost of GoL was steep enuf to push me in the direction I was already heading towards. Good gaming all! Giants of Legend Complete Set List
More Giants of Legend Spoiler Pics No more linking to eBay auctions as the items are likely stolen property. Until I hear otherwise from WotC I'd consider these off-limits. WotC reps have stated that if images or information surfaces to go ahead and share, so pics of some forthcoming GoL minis should be fine.

D&D Miniatures: Skirmish Warbands I've not known exactly what I wanted to do with the front page of my minis site. When the game was released and I started thinking about putting up a page it was for little more than a storehouse of my personal collection to share with my local gaming group. Over time I added a few more tidbits, a gallery of all the minis, the spoiler lists, collected images of upcoming sets. These settled over into the left-hand frame as sublinks so the frontpage itself was mostly empty. I considered doing something much like Merric has done, a listing of news and items of recent interest but I don't have time for that sort of daily grind. When the Archfiends spoiler list popped up I placed it here, some nice filler text, but its getting a little outdated now. So I decided to keep some common D&D Miniatures Warbands here that I'm either tinkering with or was impressed enuf by their design that I decided to note them. Much of this information is public knowledge, I hope the original designer and namer of Displaced Aggression hold no ill will for my mentioning of it here ;) Evermeet Sisters (100) 2x Evermeet Wizard (39/78) 1x Vadania (22) The Evermeet Wizard has two castings of Summon Monster 3, allowing her to summon "Animals or Elementals with total cost of 15 or less'. For a list of all current summonable monsters click here. Current popular strategies include summoning x3 wolves as roadblocks and flankers. Vadania's Beastmaster 2 score makes wolves and hyenas come under control despite their Difficulty 20 rating, and her two castings of Magic Fang are a must when going up against DR'd opponents. Spellbound (200) 2x Evermeet Wizard (39/78) 1x Vadania (22) 1x Elf Pyromancer (32) 1x Silver Sorcerer (49) 1x Halfling Wizard (19) A continuation of the Evermeet Sisters theme simply expanded out into the 200 point arena. Evermeet Wizards see expanded options here, they might need to start summoning medium fire elementals to defeat gauth-based warbands or to make perfect targets for the elf pyromancer's fireballs. Gruumsh's Guys (200) 1x Eye of Gruumsh (44) 1x Tiefling Captain (21) 2x Orc Champion (39/78) 4x Orc Raiders (12/48) 3x Orc Warriors (3/9) Typical orc-oriented warband. I don't like presenting armies with multiples of a single rare but Orc Champions doubled up are a potent force. You can also get rid of one orc raider and one orc warrior to drop in three orc spearfighters (5/15) if you want more units in the band. Evil Eyes (100) 1x Mind Flayer (35) 1x Gauth (39) 2x Nothic (10/20) 2x Hobgoblin Warrior A fun themed-warband based around ranged attacks from staring at your opponents a little too hard :) Replace the hobgoblin warriors with a grimlock if you want to keep a pure vision theme. Gold Glory (100) 1x Gold Champion (51) 1x Sword of Heironeous (29) 1x Cleric of Moradin (14) 1x Gnome Fighter (6) A fun little 100 pointer, the idea is to make the Gold Champion an unhittable opponent. Its AC 25 is already bad enuf, but add on the CoM's shield of faith for +2 AC and the commander effect of +1 AC... AC 28 is incredibly difficult for a 100 point warband to overcome. The first band I made that would routinely stomp all over Displaced Aggression. The gnome fighter is just an AC 21 (or AC 23) 6-point roadblock. Snowballs from Hell (100) 2x Drow Wizard (29/58) 8x Abyssal Maw (5/40) Abyssal Maws have Resist 10 Cold. Drow Wizards can lob three Snilloc's Snowball Swarms each for 2 radius 10 cold damage. Use the maws as bullseyes and start pelting the opponent. Oh, and maws hafta be one of the most point-efficient minis in the game. At 5 points, a +5 for 15 damage makes them living hand grenades. Displaced Aggression (100) 2x Displacer Beasts (27/54) 1x Blackguard (46) The original named warband, everyone should give this one a try at least once. Conceal 11 doesn't sound *that* bad on paper, but wait until it seems that every time you manage to score a potential hit that it comes up against your favor. Try replacing one of the displacer beasts with a bargest if you know you're going up against a weenie warband, its DR5 will make it invulnerable to a majority of the opposing band. The human blackguard is still one of the best commanders in DDM. |
